Faith Formation
In response to a changing world and mindful of Roman Catholic tradition, the Church's unceasing mission is to proclaim the Gospel. For evangelism to bear abundant fruit, the baptized lay must actively support bishops, priests, deacons and religious in this effort.
According to CCC 906, "lay people who are capable and trained may collaborate in catechetical formation, in teaching the sacred sciences, and in use of the communications media." The Knights of Columbus forms men for Catholic action. Called to holiness we courageously proclaim the Good News. K of C programs help members practice their faith in the fields of charity, devotion and education with each member becoming a constant and worthy example of an ideal Catholic for his family, his community and his Brother Knights.
Part of Council 6417's faith formation activity includes:
Funding to support local vocations to the Catholic priesthood and religious life.
Annually sponsoring a Saint John the Apostle Parish youth group at Steubenville Atlantic.
Rosary Program where on every fourth Sunday at Saint Joseph Church at 10:20 am before Mass, Knights from Council 6417 lead Parishioners in praying the rosary.
